Bridlemile Soccer Club
2007/2008
High School Age Classic Program

Overview

Because sports can be an important part of high school, Bridlemile Soccer Club encourages its players to play for their high school soccer teams. So even though teams will be formed immediately after tryouts, regular practices will not start until after the OSAA High School Soccer Finals in late November.  Teams will enter the OYSA Winter League (normally runs the end of January until the end of March) and either the State Cup or President's Cup in April.  Teams will also play in local and/or out-of-state tournaments, college showcases and other events during the winter / summer and occasionally in the spring.

Tryouts

BSC will be holding tryouts for high school age Classic teams in early August  at Oregon Episcopal School.  Players are encouraged, but not required, to attend both days. Tryouts are free to those pre-registering on-line and $20 otherwise

Practices & Games

Teams will normally practice 1.5-2.0 hours twice a week on the OES turf field under the lights (Dec.-Mar).  Home games for the 10 game OYSA Winter League will be during the weekend on the OES turf.  Weekly goalkeeping practice is provided January through March. In addition to practices during the summer, the club offers an optional Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness (SPARQ) program during the summer. These weekly session last one hour and are led by a certified Strength and Conditioning Trainer.

Fees

The $800 club fee (2008/2009 fee will be announced in July 2008) covers coaching fees and field / lighting costs for December through July as well as OYSA & PYSA league and player fees, equipment  costs, scholarships and administrative expenses.  A $300 deposit will be required for those selected to a team with the balance due in December.

Uniform package (two jerseys, shorts, socks, warm-up jacket and pants, backpack and practice t-shirt / shorts) is $225. Returning players need to replace only missing/outgrown items, although we typically require new jerseys every other year.

Travel and tournament costs are extra and vary by team.  Scholarships based on financial need are available.

Tryouts for the 2008/2009 U15-U18 teams will be in early August, 2008.
Tryout schedules and other information will be available in early July.

If you're interested in guest playing with one of our teams this summer, please contact the club.
