U10 Development Program 2007/2008

Bridlemile Soccer Club (BSC) is excited to offer a year-round program of technical training and league play with professional coaches for under 10 (U10) boys and girls (usually 4th grade).  Our goal is to provide an introduction to a more competitive level of soccer and develop young players with an emphasis on improving skills in a fun environment.  We are looking for enthusiastic, focused players who are interested in continuing to develop their soccer skills.  Bridlemile Soccer Club maintains a successful Classic Soccer program and we will provide players quality training under the guidance of our coaches.  Players can participate in any or all of the components below depending on their interest/time.

Summer Soccer Academy

  • The summer session runs for 4 weeks with practices on Monday and Wednesday nights from 5:30-7:00 at Oregon Episcopal School fields.  The session begins Monday, July 30th and ends Wednesday August 22nd.  Players can come to as few or many as they wish.
  • Coach:  Tom Taylor of the Portland Timbers.  Lori Lambert, BSC Development Director, will fill in when Tom has conflicts with his own games.
  • Cost is $40 for the session.  Scholarships are available. Registration form is attached.

Back to Soccer Clinics

  • Back to Soccer Academy is for recreational players who want to improve their soccer skills in a challenging and fun environment. Our focus is on improving player’s technical skills and tactical understanding through age-appropriate games and activities. These clinics are especially geared for players who want to increase their passion for the game and may want to play classic soccer in the future.  August 28-30 from 5:30-7:00 at Hamilton Park

·         Cost is $40 for the week.

Fall Sunday Skills Academy

·     BSC offers Sunday skills sessions in Sept/Oct for recreational players in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades who’d like to have additional technical training with professional coaching to improve soccer skills.  Sessions are typically 1.5 hours on Sunday afternoons and incorporate lots of touches on the ball using fun games and activities.

 U10 Futsal/Indoor Soccer

  • The indoor session begins mid-Nov. 2007 and runs through Jan. 2008.
  • The session will include weekly practices and a weekly game.  Training is indoors and may include Futsal.  Futsal is played with a special low bounce ball necessitating players to use their skills, rather than the ball's bounce, to propel it.  Training sessions are designed around technical training for young players using a variety of game-related activities.
  • Cost will be around $125 per session (includes 8 games, weekly indoor practices and T-shirt).  Scholarships are available.

BSC Winter Academy

  • The winter academy will include two outdoor training sessions a week at Oregon Episcopal School turf field in the evenings starting late-January for 4-6 weeks.  The BSC classic program (5th through 8th graders) will also be taking part in the academy.  The academy may also include Fri evening or Sun afternoon small-sided games.
  • The BSC Winter Academy will focus on developing technical skills in small group trainings with professional coaches.  Players will get many touches on the ball at each session with a focus on fun and skill development.
  • The cost will be variable ($65-$130) since participants can choose the number of trainings to attend to accommodate a variety of schedules (basketball, skiing, etc).

Spring Season

  • The program is designed for players interested in experiencing an introduction to “Classic” soccer.  We will be taking part in an Outdoor Spring League (8v8).  Games will be played Sunday afternoons in March and April.
  • One or two training sessions a week (either indoor or outdoor).  Fees and registration to be announced.
